New Years in Birch Bay

For New Years our friends the Spring's invited us up to Birch Bay with them for 2 nights. I drove up with them New Years Eve and Jesse came up later after he got off work. We had a 3 bedroom place with a kitchen and living room. The kids loved playing with each other and us adults had fun playing too. The first night, New Years Eve the Bay has everyone light flares around the beach and it is called the ring of fire. So we got 3 flares and headed to the beach. All the kids got to hold one which was really fun for them. We didn't last long outside because it was so cold, rainy and nasty.

After that we let the kids go swimming. There was a really neat indoor outdoor pool that had like garage doors opening up to the outside. Amy and I decided it was still too cold for us and sent Aaron in with the kids (Jesse was still working at this time).

The next day we took the kids to this really cool park. It was a little cold out so we made sure they were bundled up.

We had such a nice relaxing time with our friends and their kids. It was nice to actually do something on New Years with the kids and other adults.
